This bundle includes NK101 video training and Video Mentoring (personalized critiques delivered via video).
Students enrolled in these courses are eligible for student pricing on NukeX. You can order your 6 month NukeX license though us for and additional cost. Your instructor will contact you with details on getting the student license and getting set up on the Student Portal once you have enrolled.
Here is how the mentored course is structured:
Each week you watch the videos for that week’s training and do the practice project. The lessons cover Nuke and high-level compositing concepts. One you have completed the assignment, you upload the results to the Student Portal. I review your project and produce one video based critique for each assignment that you can watch on your own schedule to get feedback.
In the critiques I often demonstrate techniques relevant to the specific challenges a student or students are having with the assignment. Sometimes it’s a technique shown in the videos, other times it might touch on fine points of the technique not mentioned in the videos.
Learning to receive and respond to criticism is a critical soft skill you will need to succeed professionally so the sooner you can get comfortable with it the better.
Roughly once a month I will hold a live streaming video fireside chat / Q&A session. During this time you will have the opportunity to ask any questions you might have. I use the meeting time to answer questions and do demonstrations to help flesh out the content of the video training. I’ll also answer general professional development questions.
There is also a weekly reading assignment that is highly recommended. It will take your technical understanding of compositing to a much higher level. Don't skip the reading. It will really help you advance your skills and if there is something you don't understand you can ask about it in the fireside chat.
